Gallery: ‘Immediately Giroud’, ‘He wastes no time’ – Today’s front pages of Italian papers

Milan took on Nice in their third pre-season friendly last night and although the performance wasn’t perfect, there are positives to take from it. Olivier Giroud is one of them, scoring just minutes into his debut. 

The Frenchman had only been on the pitch for a few minutes when he converted what was a good delivery from Samu Castillejo. In fact, it was his first touch of the ball, showing exactly why Milan signed him.

Inevitably, the newspapers focused on Giroud this morning with their headlines. Gazzetta Dello Sport wrote: “Giroud-goal. He wastes no time, Milan is already his”. Tuttosport added: “Milan joy, immediately it’s Giroud!”.

Corriere Dello Sport, in addition to praising Giroud, added a transfer update for the Rossoneri: “Immediately Giroud. Sprint for Ilicic”.
