This morning’s newspapers in Italy are a split between the present and the future with regards to AC Milan, as they bid farewell to Stefano Pioli today and look set to name his replacement soon.

Milan announced yesterday morning that Stefano Pioli will leave the club at the end of the current season, following a tenure of nearly five years at the club. The game against Salernitana will be his last with the club, and it looks like Paulo Fonseca is coming in to replace him.

Below are how the front pages look…

Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan advance for Fonseca. The Rossoneri have chosen. They can close the deal with the Portuguese coach in the next few days. Zaniolo, his ex at Roma, pushes him on: ‘Great boss’. Pioli salutes San Siro, is Napoli in his future?”

Corriere dello Sport: “Milan, Fonseca counting down the seconds. And Pioli salutes Milan fans with a smile. On Instagram the Portuguese coach showed an hourglass…”

Tuttosport: “The last game for Pioli with Milan. Fans are cold on Fonseca. Milan host Salernitana this evening.”
