Gian Piero Gasperini is in a meeting this afternoon with Roma patron Dan Friedkin, director Florent Ghisolfi and former coach Claudio Ranieri, ready to take over.
The Corriere dello Sport, transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano and more all confirm the location for the encounter is in Florence, so between Rome and Bergamo.
Ranieri and Ghisolfi took the train up to Florence, while the plane carrying the Friedkin family landed in Tuscany this afternoon.
Gasperini will for the first time meet face to face with the Friedkins, where he is expected to give the all-clear to the three-year contract worth €6m per season net.
Although he had been the first choice for a while to take over from retiring Ranieri, the progress was only made in the last 48 hours after Gasperini decided he would not remain with Atalanta.
After nine years at the club, winning the Europa League trophy and taking them into the Champions League five times in the last seven seasons, he felt that he had done as much as he could.
There was also the departure of Rafael Toloi, the last remaining player from the moment he first took over in Bergamo.
