According to Sportitalia , Gian Piero Gasperini is on the verge of accepting a Roma contract and could announce his Atalanta exit as soon as tomorrow morning.

The situation developed very quickly today, with a meeting between Gasperini and the Atalanta directors in Bergamo that had seemingly not been planned.

Gasperini has decided to move on

La Dea set a deadline for the coach to decide on the offer of a new deal to June 2027, but instead he told them that nothing could convince him to remain for a 10th year.

It was not about the salary, nor the transfer strategy, but rather that he felt he had taken the team as far as he realistically could and wanted a new challenge.

Reports then emerged that Gasperini was in direct contact with Roma via Claudio Ranieri, and things are moving fast there too.

Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains an announcement of his exit from Atalanta could come as soon as Wednesday morning.

The proposal on the table is the same as the one that had been made to Como coach Cesc Fabregas, a three-year deal worth circa €5m per season plus bonuses.
