Gazik Ibragimov officially signs for Manchester United

Manchester United’s academy remains one of the greatest and most exciting in world football, with aspiring footballers from all over the world jetting in to sign.

One of the infamous pools that went on to achieve success was the ‘Class of 92’, which consisted of David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville.

While the new United head coach wasn’t an academy product, Michael Carrick was certainly a player who shared DNA with these nurtured talents and won 17 major trophies in 12 years at Old Trafford, in one of the club’s most successful periods.

While the football season is currently at a close, Manchester United continue to sign on talent.

Confirmed across two Instagram stories, where the player holds up a United shirt under the lights of Old Trafford and takes a picture with United head coach Michael Carrick, this latest signing is the younger brother of club prospect Amir Ibragimov, Gazik.

Gazik Ibragimov is a 16-year-old Russian prospect, who has already featured for Manchester United’s U18’s side. He has had his fair share of recent injury worries, but is back in action now.

It’s a famous, sporty family that Gazik belongs to. His other brother is an MMA fighter, who dreams to fight at Old Trafford one day.

But unlike middle-child Amir, who is a creative player in United’s academy, Gazik Ibragimov stops attacks rather than makes them. Amir agreed to a pre-contract for Manchester United three years before his seventeenth birthday, and it appears Gazik is now tied down also.

Gazik Ibragimov turns 17 in October, which is when his professional contract will likely begin.

It’s an exciting time for Russian football with these two great prospects coming through at Manchester United. Gazik Ibragimov and his brother, Amir, will hope to follow in the shoes of the Class of 92 in creating a successful future for the Red Devils.
