Genoa will sign Felipe Caicedo from Lazio in a deal worth around €2 million.

As reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla last night, the Rossoblu secured the Ecuadorian’s signature after 48 hours of negotiations and a short pause where the striker reflected, before deciding to accept the offer.

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi convinced Caicedo by slightly improving the salary he’ll receive on the two-year deal, which also has an option for a third.

Caicedo will now leave Lazio after four years, having arrived in 2017 from Espanyol. In his time in Rome, the 32-year-old Ecuadorian forward made 139 appearances across all competitions, scoring 33 goals and providing 15 assists.

The player helped the side win a Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana, as well as their return to the Champions League for the first time in over a decade.

The 32-year-old Caicedo is a fan favourite in Rome, well known for scoring in the dying minutes of games in order to secure a win or at least a draw for the club.
