Guardian reporter claims Manchester United have already made Ten Hag decision

INEOS attempts to remain tight-lipped on Erik ten Hag could go so far. The noise around the manager is loud enough for all to hear and it sounds like members of the press pack have been briefed on the decision to change manager at Manchester United this summer.

According to Jacob Steinberg, who isn’t the closest to Manchester United, the Reds have decided to sack Erik ten Hag after the FA Cup final against Man City.

The report was published by The Guardian at 15:20 on Friday afternoon and it claims Ten Hag is set to depart after enduring a disappointing second campaign at Old Trafford. United finished eighth in the Premier League, failed in Europe but have a chance to claim FA Cup glory at Wembley this weekend.

It no longer sounds like winning the FA Cup will save Ten Hag’s bacon.

Steinberg claims a well-placed source said that even winning the FA Cup on Saturday would not save Ten Hag.

This is set to become United’s biggest decision since the arrival of new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his new recruitment team, which will lead football operations and it looks like a new manager will be the hotseat next season.

A number of candidates have emerged in recent weeks, but sources close to Stretty News claim Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is the one to keep an eye on.

Others on the shortlist include Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter and Thomas Frank.
