Guimaraes reveals what inspired Arsenal’s win against Hull City

Bruno Guimaraes has revealed that Arsenal were determined to head into the international break with a victory after remembering the disappointment of their previous result before the last break. The Gunners eventually secured a 1-0 win over Hull City, ensuring their players could leave for international duty in a positive mood.

Arsenal had suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat against Brighton before the previous international break, with Mikel Arteta’s side producing one of their poorest performances of the season. That experience remained fresh in the players’ minds as they prepared for another period away from club football.

The match against Hull was expected to be more straightforward, particularly given the visitors’ difficult run without a victory. However, the Tigers made life uncomfortable for Arsenal, who had to work hard before finding a way to secure all three points.

Arsenal determined to avoid another setback

The Gunners understood the importance of getting a positive result before their players departed to represent their countries. Another disappointing performance would have left them heading into the break with concerns, particularly after what happened against Brighton.

Guimaraes explained that the players discussed the need to approach the fixture differently and make sure they finished their latest matchday on a positive note. That determination helped motivate the team despite the difficulties they encountered against Hull.
