Erling Haaland hasn’t been in the Premier League for long, but he’s already rewritten what dominance looks like. Since arriving in England, the Norwegian powerhouse has made goal scoring look effortless, breaking records, terrorizing defenses, and collecting trophies at a pace that feels almost unreal. It’s no wonder that pundits and former players can’t stop talking about him.

In fact, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher recently weighed in on the debate, and his take has certainly stirred the pot. According to Carragher, Haaland isn’t just one of the best strikers in recent years; he's already surpassed icons like Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry when it comes to pure goal-scoring ability.

While speaking on Halaand’s form this season he said, “When I was watching him today and the start he has made to the season, and the impact he has made, in the premier league, I think we are watching the greatest goal scorer to ever play in English football. I think of Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, I think what we are witnessing now is something we have never seen before. And don’t forget this was a club whose goalscorer before was Sergio Aguero, one of the greatest we have ever seen. This is on a completely different level. He’s the best.”

A Plethora of Records Within Touching Distance for Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland has started the 2025–26 season exactly how you’d expect by scoring goals for fun. The Manchester City striker has been on a ridiculous run, finding the net in nearly every match for both club and country. With 18 goals in just 11 games so far, including nine in the Premier League, the Norwegian goal machine is once again leading the charts.

Haaland’s record-breaking spree continues, too. He recently became the fastest player ever to hit 50 goals in the Champions League doing it in just 49 games and also overtook Ole Gunnar Solskjær as Norway’s top Premier League scorer. With 94 league goals already, he’s just six away from becoming the fastest player to ever reach 100.

Whether it’s smashing records, dominating defenses, or chasing his own milestones, Haaland’s hunger shows no signs of easing. If he stays fit, he’s on course to etch his name even deeper into football history.
