Harry Amass suffers major injury during loan spell

Harry Amass is one of the players who have graduated from the Manchester United academy attempting to prove himself on the professional stage.

The defender, who had been at Sheffield Wednesday during the first half of the season following his move last summer, had been of the interest of many Championship sides during this window.

With 12 clubs interested in the 18-year-old, including Millwall and Stoke City, it was Norwich City who eventually won the race for Amass with them announcing the signing earlier this month.

Speaking about the Canaries on the official club website, Harry Amass stated: “Norwich are in a good position, making a step up at the moment and going forward. I wanted to be a part of it and I’m looking forward to it.”

However, now, it appears that the defender has suffered a major injury, preventing him from making further appearances for City.

Speaking about Amass’ condition, Norwich manager stated: “Harry, in the dying seconds of training, got an injury. I didn’t want to speak too much about it straight after training because there was no assessment yet about it.

“But it looks to be serious and that he will be out for a long time.

“He’s on loan from Man U so it’s also important to speak with them first before speaking to the outside world.”

Meanwhile, speaking about the possibility of signing another player to replace the 18-year-old, Clement stated: “No, we’re not going to take in another left full-back, so we will solve it with the squad that’s here because we already have four left full-backs on the pay roll.”

The injury comes at a unfortunate time for the defender and will prevent him for playing at Norwich City for the foreseeable future.
