Harry Kane injury update: Will the Bayern Munich star play against Arsenal in Champions League quarter-final?

Harry Kane ‘s move to Bayern Munich last summer has been anything but perfect. On the one hand, the England captain has made it a habit of banging in goals while on the other, his team are ‘this’ close from losing out on the Bundesliga title. While he stepped up to rescue his team against Lazio in the Round of 16, it is now doubtful whether the No.9 will be available to take on Arsenal.

Much to the dismay of Bayern supporters, the striker was forced off the pitch in a 2-5 win in the Bundesliga. As per Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel, the 30-year-old twisted his ankle in the goal netting and that it is too early to name a date for his return. While Arsenal fans are overjoyed at the prospect of not having to face Harry Kane, Bayern fans are hopeful of an early return.

Tuchel added that the club is hopeful that the injury isn’t serious and rightfully so. The striker has scored a total of 37 goals in all competitions and the team will certainly need him if they are to have a solid chance of lifting the Champions League this year.

Bayern are currently second in the Bundesliga, and seven points behind Bayer Leverkusen.

Harry Kane breaks goal scoring record as Bayern thrashes Darmstadt 2-5

Harry Kane has recently been at his ‘very best’ following his move to the Bundesliga. While many may consider the Englishman’s debut season to be ‘flawed’ due to several reasons, the numbers don’t lie. His statistics for the 2023/24 league season reveal that he has now set a new personal best! With 8 more games to go, Kane has already set a new personal best of 31 league goals.

Darmstadt initially took the lead through Tim Skarke in the 28th minute before Jamal Musiala equalized eight minutes later. From then on, it was all Bayern, as Harry Kane, Mathys Tel and Serge Gnabry added to their tally. While Kane set a new personal record, he was forced off the pitch as he twisted his ankle while scoring.

The No.9 had scored 30 goals in two previous seasons for Tottenham. He also broke the record for most goals scored in a debut season in the Bundesliga. The record was earlier held by Uwe Seeler, a record that had been set in 1963/64. Following the massive win, Bayern closed the gap with Leverkusen to seven points, and with 8 games to go, the finale to the season will be anything but predictable.
