Harsh Ratings For Inter Milan Against Napoli As Turkey Star Shines Despite Defeat & Italy Defender Slammed

La Gazzetta dello Sport delivered harsh ratings after Inter Milan’s 3-1 defeat to Napoli at the Maradona, describing a team that “started well, switched off, switched back on, and then melted,” and singling out Hakan Calhanoglu as the Nerazzurri’s only decent player.

The paper gave Calhanoglu the best score among Inter players, praising him as “one of the few to attack the goal with conviction and bring order when the team fell into confusion.”

His goal from the spot earned him a 6.5, the only clear promotion of the night.

There were just a few other passing marks: Dumfries, Mkhitaryan, Bonny, and substitutes Luis Henrique, Sucic and Frattesi.

Several players stopped at 5.5: including Sommer, Bastoni, Barella, Dimarco, Zielinski and Pio Esposito.

Meanwhile Akanji and Lautaro were judged insufficient, with Lautaro labelled the “symbol of the thermal shock from Brussels to Naples.”

The heaviest criticism was reserved for Francesco Acerbi, who received a 4.5.

GdS wrote that the defender “could not cope with Neres dragging him around, and Anguissa looked like a Freccia Rossa as he ran past him.”

Even Cristian Chivu was rated poorly with a 5.

“However, he failed to intercept the team’s mental drop after seven wins.”

According to GdS, the collapse was not technical, but psychological.

However, Inter are a team unable to maintain balance or awareness at decisive moments.

The message from the ratings is clear: the defeat was self-inflicted, and only a handful of players emerged with credit.
