'He can add many good things' – What Chelsea’s controversial loan can bring to his new team

The decision to loan out striker Armando Broja to Fulham was a controversial one for many Chelsea fans. They see a squad which is already thin up top losing one of its two true strikers, leaving us very exposed to another injury or a suspension – or even just a run of bad form from Nicolas Jackson.

But the decision has been made, Broja is gone, and all we can do now is hope that he does well.

Fulham are sliding down the table at an alarming rate, and they really need him to hit the ground running. He came on as a sub in their 2-2 draw with Burnley last weekend, and now is in line to start for them when they face Bournemouth tomorrow.

His manager Marco Silva had some encouraging words for the striker:

“He can add many good things for us, definitely,” Silva said in his presser today.

“He’s a different profile to what we have in the squad. His capacity, he’s a more dynamic striker to Raul Jimenez. He will add something different to us. His qualities are his pace, his capacity to attack in behind, he’s dynamic in his mobility and can cause problems to the back line and we will expect good things from him.”

“He’s adapting to our model and is in a happy place. This week was important for him. He had to understand what we expect from him on the pitch.”

We really hope Armando gets a chance in the team and starts scoring goals – then everyone will be a lot happier about the decision to let him go.
