“He taught me a lot of things” – Joao Felix on his unlikely friendship with Chelsea cult hero

Joao Felix is only on loan at Chelsea, but most people him are treating him like he’s signed up full time.

There’s plenty of speculation about how much he might cost to sign from Atletico Madrid, and he seems to be settling in for the long haul in London.

He’s doing plenty of interviews and media stuff which hint at that, and today the topic was his relationship with recent Chelsea cult hero Diego Costa.

The pair only had a year together, but it seems like they got on nicely. It’s a funny pair to imagine – the giant grizzled Costa with the boyish Felix, but opposites often attract in football.

“He taught me a lot of things, Felix said in quotes picked up by Football London.

“He’s a good guy, an amazing guy, a funny guy, I loved being there with him.

“Unfortunately, I only had one year there with him, but I had lovely moments with him. He’s still my friend. My family loves him too; he loves my dad. He’s a really nice guy.”

The two will get another chance to meet when we play Wolves again later this season. And who knows, if things go well and Felix ends up sticking around, the two could get plenty of chances to be friends all over again.
