Hellas Verona coach Marco Baroni believes that Inter Milan are “one of the top five teams in Europe” right now.

The Gialloblu boss spoke in a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A clash with the Nerazzurri, as reported by FCInterNews.

It would be hard to argue that Inter are not the top team in Italy this season.

An early exit from the Coppa Italia is the one major blot on the Nerazzurri’s record domestically.

However, Simone Inzaghi won the Serie A title for the campaign, and did so in dominant fashion. They also won the Supercoppa Italiana for the third season running, for good measure.

The question then is how Inter fit in at the top European level.

There are obviously top sides in the Premier League like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool. And Real Madrid certainly have a place near the very top.

In the Bunedesliga, Bayer Leverkusen have had an outstanding season.

Meanwhile, even if the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona have not had the best of campaigns by their own standards, they certainly remain formidable.

Verona Coach Marco Baroni: Inter “One Of The Top Five Teams In Europe”

Verona will be the last team to test Inter this season. They last met the Nerazzurri at the San Siro in January.

Gialloblu coach Baroni said that “We want to play a good match because the opposition is of enormous quality.”

“I consider them to be among the top five teams in Europe,” he said of the Nerazzurri.

“So we want to make a good impression against an opponent like that.”

“The difficulty has never scared us,” Baroni continued.

“On the contrary, That’s always given us an extra motivation.”

Of Verona confirming their Serie A safety with a draw against Salernitana last week, Baroni said that “It wasn’t easy to get the team back on track after the celebrations.”

“However, I’m convinced that the team will put in a good performance.”
