Daka Close To Signing For Bournemouth

Top football journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Leicester City forward Patson Daka is close to moving to Bournemouth. The Italian posted on X, formerly Twitter, to say that Bournemouth were closing in on a deal to sign the forward on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

Romano also discussed this deal on his deadline day live stream on Kick, claiming that a “here we go” announcement could be coming very soon.

Twist In Daka Transfer Saga

Daka had been linked to several other clubs in the lead-up to transfer deadline day and a possible destination looked to be AC Milan, with Sky Sports reporting the Serie A side were in talks with Leicester about a deal. It was then reported by Sky, via Milan News, that the deal was agreed. However, the report did say that Milan faced a race against time to get the transfer over the line.

Now, with Romano’s update, it seems that a deal with any other club is off the table for Daka, and his destination, if leaving Leicester, will be Bournemouth.

Bournemouth Increasing Attacking Options

It appears that Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has made the attacking positions a main focus on deadline day. It was previously reported that an agreement was in place for The Cherries to sign Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra.

This deal follows the summer arrivals of Hamed Traore and Justin Kluivert.

Daka is another player who will add to Bournemouth’s attacking options and he will hope to find the form that led to Leicester paying £23 million for him back in 2021. He hasn’t had the best of times in England so far, with only fifteen goals in seventy-four appearances for The Foxes in all competition since his arrival.

However, he’s only twenty-four and showed a great deal of potential before his move to Leicester. Iraola and Bournemouth fans will be hoping he can show some of that promise if he does indeed move to the club.
