Roma continue to whittle down their squad, with reports Valencia are in talks to take defender Mario Hermoso on loan with obligation to buy.

The Giallorossi are facing a race against time to make profits by midnight Italian time in order to avoid falling foul of Financial Fair Play parameters.

Sending Tammy Abraham to Besiktas would practically seal it, but it isn’t the only deal on the table.

Hermoso wanted by Valencia

According to Footmercato, Valencia are in negotiations to sign Hermoso on loan.

Roma are eager to include an obligation to buy at the end of the season rather than an option, as that could be registered as guaranteed income.

The defender only joined as a free agent in September, made very little impact and was sent out on loan to Bayer Leverkusen in January.

Now he has returned to base and just recently celebrated his 30th birthday.

A product of the Real Madrid academy, Hermoso also played for Espanyol before a five-year stint with Atletico Madrid.
