West Bromwich Albion urged to sign Tottenham Hotspur loanee Jamie Donley

Tottenham Hotspur are now within touching distance of winning the Europa League and ending their long-standing trophy drought. The Lilywhites can not only bring European silverware back to N17 after 41 years, but they can also secure a spot in next season’s Champions League if they win the competition. This is something that would be beneficial for the club from a financial point of view.

There should not be any doubt that Spurs are going to face a busy transfer window ahead. The Lilywhites are expecting a squad shuffle, and that could see many players leave N17 for pastures new. It is believed that the club will have to adhere to the ‘sell to buy’ policy as poor performances in the Premier League have affected the club’s finances.

Daniel Levy will look to cash in on a few players that might not be involved in the future project. The Lilywhites will also look to send a few youngsters on loan, so that they could gain some valuable experience and get some minutes under their belt before returning to N17. Spurs have some exciting talent in their ranks and Daniel Levy will look to make sure that they get the required time to develop.

Tottenham youngster Jamie Donley urged to sign for West Brom

One of the Tottenham youngsters that has impressed on loan is Jamie Donley. The talented striker has taken huge strides this season while playing for Leyton Orient. After making his professional debut at N17 and signing a contract extension until 2027, the Lilywhites decided to send Donley on loan to the Os last summer. It is fair to say that the Spurs loanee has excelled at the Gaughan Group Stadium.

After registering some stellar performances for Orient this season, the 20-year-old has put some clubs in England on notice. It was reported earlier that West Brom are interested in signing the Northern Ireland international in the summer on a permanent deal. However, Spurs are not willing to let Donley go and would rather prefer a loan deal.

Now, Lee Hendrie has urged Jamie Donley to make the switch to The Hawthorns in the summer. Speaking to Football League World, Hendrie said,

“West Bromwich Albion linked with Jamie Donley; I’ve actually been doing the games recently of Leyton Orient, and he’s had a remarkable season. Goals, creativity, young, he ticks every single box, and he has done this season.”

The pundit added,

“He’s been one of the stand-out players in League One and for Leyton Orient. So, I mean, obviously, he’s a Spurs player, he’s on loan there and I think he’d be an absolutely brilliant signing for West Bromwich Albion.”

Lee Hendrie suggested that Jamie Donley has come leaps and bounds during his time at Leyton Orient and possesses all the abilities to be a top striker. The renowned pundit also insisted that Donley has been one of the stand-out players in League One and the 20-year-old would be a brilliant signing from West Bromwich Albion.

As per Sofascore, Donley has scored eight goals and provided 10 assists in 47 games for Leyton Orient this season. The Northern Ireland international is one of the rising talents from the Spurs academy, and it is highly unlikely that the Lilywhites would allow the 20-year-old to leave the club n a permanent deal.
