Inter Milan will kick off their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign tonight against Liga MX giants CF Monterrey.
Per Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, head coach Cristian Chivu still has some doubts about the starting line-up.
That’s because the Nerazzurri cannot count on several first-team stars.
For starters, Hakan Calhanoglu and Yann Bisseck are out of the squad.
Then, Piotr Zielinski is on the sidelines with a calf injury.
Moreover, Francesco Pio Esposito has yet to return to fitness, while fatigue caught up with Davide Frattesi.
With Bisseck out, Benjamin Pavard will join forces with Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni at the back.
Meanwhile, Kristjan Asllani should take Calhanoglu’s place at the heart of Inter’s midfield.
Additionally, Carlos Augusto may dislodge Federico Dimarco on the left wing.
Denzel Dumfries could drop to the bench in favor of Matteo Darmian.
However, Chivu probably won’t take any gambles in attack, with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram ready to start.
