Both Juventus and Inter were eliminated from the Club World Cup Round of 16 but returned to Italy with substantial prize money.
Inter and Juventus were the only Serie A representatives at the Club World Cup, but both sides were eliminated in the Round of 16.
Inter lost 2-0 to Fluminense, while Juventus suffered a 1-0 loss against Real Madrid.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter earned €24m just for their involvement in the competition, plus €1.9m for each of their two group stage victories over Urawa Reds and River Plate and €900,000 for their draw against Monterrey.
Qualification for the Round of 16 brought a further €7m, bringing the total tally to €35.7m.
Juventus, on the other hand, earned between €18m and €20m for participating in the competition, plus €1.9m for each of their victories against Al Ain and Wydad, and €7m for qualifying for the Round of 16, for a total amount in the region of €28m-€30m.
A place in the quarter-finals was worth €12.2m. Semifinalists will earn €19.5m, and finalists will receive an additional €27.9m. The tournament’s winner will get €37.2m.
