Genoa have officially signed Koni De Winter from Juventus for €8m plus €2m add-ons after securing Serie A survival.

Versatile Belgian defender De Winter has officially joined Genoa on a permanent transfer from Juventus, the 21-year-old’s agency NGA Sport confirmed on Thursday.

The promising centre-back had moved to Marassi on loan in the summer transfer window. The Grifone had an obligation to buy tied to their survival in 2023-24 and the number of De Winter’s appearances in 2023-24.

How much Juventus earn from De Winter’s permanent sale

Juventus announced last summer that they would sell the player permanently for €8m plus €2m add-ons if certain conditions were met. The Bianconeri said Genoa would pay the €8m fee in four instalments.

De Winter has made 28 appearances across all competitions this season, providing one assist. He had already played in Serie A while on loan at Empoli in 2022-23.

De Winter made his senior debut with Belgium under Italian coach Domenico Tedesco this past March playing 64 minutes in an international friendly against Ireland.

The defender had made two appearances with Juventus’ senior team before joining Empoli and Genoa on loan.
