How Senne Lammens’ arrival at Manchester United could impact Eli Junior Kroupi interest

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi.

Ben Jacobs spoke to The United Stand and shared that the club are keeping a close eye on Kroupi, who has made quite an impression as one of the standout young players in the league this year.

The 19-year-old has scored eight Premier League goals so far, including one at Old Trafford, and continues to draw attention for his performances.

The French under-21 international is under contract with Bournemouth until 2030, which will likely drive up his price. The Sun reports that Chelsea and Liverpool are also showing interest in the young striker.

However, even if Kroupi were to develop into a top-tier striker, £80 million doesn’t fit into United’s current budget plans. The main focus for summer 2026 remains strengthening midfield rather than adding another forward.

Lammens deal sets the tone for Kroupi decision

Senne Lammens might just hold the answer to Manchester United’s question about Eli Junior Kroupi.

United spent £18.1 million on the goalkeeper, proving you don’t always need to spend big money to bring in quality players.

Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko all cost more than £60 million each, and continuing this level of spending with every signing is just not realistic.

Other teams are finding bargains all over the place, including Bournemouth, who used their own network to find Kroupi in the first place.

Although striker isn’t a top priority for United this summer, they still plan to strengthen up front by betting on a young player with room to grow.

Lammens has shown that it can work out. Over the past year, United have increased their use of data in recruitment and should already have a list of striker targets within budget lined up.

This could be when they take a chance on one of those names instead of going after another expensive option like Kroupi.
