South Korea form

South Korea aims to reach its fifth Asian Cup final. The last time they achieved this was in 2015, a tournament in which they lost to Australia. Interestingly, the South Koreans lost all four previous finals they contested. The two times they won the tournament were through a round-robin format in 1956 and 1960.

In the quarter-finals, the Korean Republic experienced an epic match by equalizing against Australia in the final minute, after trailing 0-1 throughout the game. Son Heung-min then appeared in extra time to seal the 2-1 victory in the 104th minute, securing their place in the semifinals. Earlier, in the round of 16, the Koreans had eliminated Saudi Arabia via penalties.

Jordan form

This will be Jordan’s first experience in the semifinals in their brief history of competing in the AFC Asian Cup. The Jordanians eliminated debutants Tajikistan in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 victory.

Jordan had experienced a movie-like series of events when playing against Iraq in the round of 16. The Jordanian team had turned the score around by scoring two goals in the last 3 minutes of the match and won 3-2.
