The Washington Spirit and Gotham FC will look to serve up an entertaining and tightly contested NWSL Championship game on Saturday night.
These rivals have each previously tasted NWSL title-winning glory. Washington won the 2021 NWSL Championship, while Gotham won the 2023 NWSL Championship and took home the CONCACAF W Champions Cup in May.
Saturday’s heavyweight tilt will be the 44th time that Washington and Gotham have met.
Trinity Rodman has shaken off injury concerns and will lead Washington into the winner-take-all match. NWSL Defender of the Year, Tara McKeown, will be tasked with stifling Gotham's attack.
Gotham will look to stars Rose Lavelle, Esther Gonzalez and Jaedyn Shaw to provide fireworks. Esther has fully recovered from a hip injury and Geyse is no longer limited by a knee injury.
The NWSL Championship match will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. San Jose’s PayPal Park will host what should be an epic encounter between Washington and Gotham.
The match will be available to watch on the following TV channels and streaming services in the United States:
Pregame coverage will start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS Sports Golazo Network and YouTube, and continues at 7:30 p.m., Eastern Time on CBS and Paramount+.
On the call will be play-by-play announcer Kate Scott and analyst Lori Lindsey, along with sideline reporter Claudia Pagan and rules analyst Christina Unkel.
18,000 fans will be in attendance for the sold-out match, and all eyes will be on Rodman, who could be playing in her final match for the Spirit.
