As the 2026 World Cup approaches, the USMNT will end their 2025 with two matches against two South American national teams. Team USA will play against Paraguay this afternoon at Subaru Park.

Paraguay will be another test for the USMNT since the South American team qualified for the World Cup. Paraguay had a decent World Cup qualifier in CONMEBOL, finishing 6th for a direct spot in the 2026 World Cup.

Paraguay had 28 points in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers with a record of seven wins, seven draws, and four losses.

Last month, Paraguay played their first two friendly matches after playing all of their qualifiers, but drew 2-2 with Japan and lost 2-0 to South Korea.

The USMNT is in good form under Mauricio Pochettino, and Team USA is undefeated in their last three friendly matches. This short, undefeated streak started with a 2-0 win over Japan in September.

In October, the USA drew 1-1 with Ecuador with a goal from Folarin Balogun. The USMNT then defeated Australia 2-1 with a brace from Haji Wright.
