A massive season awaits Tottenham as the club looks to build on the Europa League under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites cannot falter at any stage as all eyes will be on how the Danish tactician goes about his business at N17. With Daniel Levy also stating that the club is looking to compete hard in the Premier League and the Champions League, Thomas Frank would need a ‘fit and firing’ squad for next season.
There might be a lot of problems on the pitch that need to be rectified in the summer. But Spurs are stacked with options in the ‘centre-back’ position for next season. With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven forming a strong partnership, along with Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin providing cover… the Lilywhites are well covered at the back.
The recent arrivals of Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai are also going to help Thomas Frank in choosing a solid option at the back as Spurs look to compete on four fronts. The fans will be excited to see how the Danish tactician utilises the talent at his disposal next season.
Tottenham signed Kevin Danso on loan earlier this year as the club’s injury crisis at the back went from bad to worse. And it is fair to say that the Austria international grasped the opportunity with both hands as he made a strong impression during the latter stages of the campaign. The 26-year-old instantly became a fan favourite at N17 and Spurs also took up the option to buy him on a permanent deal from RC Lens earlier last month.
Now, Jamie O’Hara has heaped praise on Danso and believes the centre-back will play a vital role at the back next season. Speaking on Grosvenor Sport (via Spurs Web), O’Hara said,
“I like Kevin Danso; he is a really good signing. He potentially could be someone who plays a lot of games for Tottenham, in case Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven get injured or leave the club. He is a good player and has a personality; I am already a fan after seeing him on holiday in Ibiza. He strikes me as someone who, as a coach, you would really want in the dressing room.”

Jamie O’Hara believes Tottenham made the right decision by signing Kevin Danso. The pundit adds that the Austrian would get regular game-time next season if Romero or Van de Ven get injured or leave the club. O’Hara insists that the 26-year-old has a good personality, and Thomas Frank would count on him as the season progresses. The backup centre-back is also a good person to have in the dressing room.
As per Sofascore, Kevin Danso has made 15 appearances since making the switch to Spurs. In that time, the centre-back has already impressed the fanbase with his composure on the ball and his will to win the ball back while defending. Thomas Frank will surely take notice of that as he wants the defence to be resolute at all times.
With Cristian Romero potentially heading for the exit doors in the summer, Thomas Frank would opt to play Danso in his place and there is no doubt that the Austrian would look to make his mark in the team. The ex-Lens player can either play as a right-sided centre-back in a back four, or as a central centre-back in a back three. His versatility would make him a strong option for regular game-time next season.
