'I put too much pressure on myself,' Celtic flop opens up on failed move

Shane Duffy has opened up on his struggles as a Celtic player. The 32-year-old was discussing Adam Idah’s loan move from Norwich to Glasgow while commenting on his own struggles during his spell at the club.

As reported by The Daily Record, Duffy said he put too much pressure on himself when he went to Celtic, which resulted in the poor displays in the pitch in what was a miserable season for all involved.

“I spoke to him quite a lot about it [Celtic] because we’re from the same country and I played there. I just told him to go and enjoy it. I put too much pressure on myself when I went there because it’s a club I supported and didn’t want to let anyone down.

“It probably ended up as the opposite, where I didn’t do as well as I should have done there, I let the pressure get to me, all my friends and family are Celtic fans. I said to him to go and enjoy it and be yourself, don’t put too much pressure on yourself, it’s one of the best football clubs in the world and he’ll realise how big it is when he gets there.”
