'I think secretly he wants to…' – Pundit makes Harry Kane claim which might upset Tottenham fans

Tottenham legend Harry Kane bid farewell to the club last summer, making his move to Bayern Munich in a record Bundesliga transfer valued at £82 million.

The England captain enjoyed a remarkable career with Spurs, featuring in an impressive 430 matches, scoring an outstanding 278 goals, and providing 64 assists during his tenure with the club.

Kane was expected to remain in the Premier League, with Manchester United showing significant interest in signing him.

Nevertheless, the proposed deal collapsed as Bayern emerged as the destination for the Englishman.

However, according to former English footballer Stan Collymore, Spurs’ record goalscorer could make a return to the Premier League next season by joining Tottenham’s London rivals.

The pundit believes Chelsea could be the potential destination for Kane, who might leave Bayern after only one season despite being at the top of the goalscoring charts.

The 30-year-old not only leads the Bundesliga in goals but also tops all of Europe’s top 5 leagues with 33 goals and an additional 9 assists in just 29 appearances.

His impressive tally across all competitions reaches 40 goals and 12 assists in 40 appearances.

Despite Kane’s incredible form, Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern might end the season without any trophies, having already lost the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen after 11 years.

That’s why Stan Collymore speculated on the Englishman’s potential return to the Premier League this summer.

He suggested that Kane might be inclined to come back to England, possibly reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Collymore said:

“So the Kane jinx continues to strike in Munich as Bayer wins the title, which leaves the question, will Bayern look to cash in on Harry’s super individual season, potentially after a good Euro’s, to several clubs who arguably need his services, or does he stay, Duke it out again next season and wrestle the Bundesliga back?

“I think secretly he wants to come home, and if you were Manchester United, potentially with a new manager and under new ownership, the signing of Kane would represent cache and intent.

“Chelsea also could use not only his goals but his experience to help the young pups along. I thought earlier on this season that he should stay and fight Bayer next season to get the title back but I’m particularly warming to Kane to Chelsea.

“They have the cash, it’s his city and they desperately need some calm heads around the place, people you can rely on. They don’t come calmer than Kane and the fact he knows Poch so well may be the focus that the manager and owner need to get the Blues back firing towards that top four.”

Would Kane risk tainting his Spurs legacy by joining Chelsea?

It was previously suggested that Kane will eventually return to England as he has eyes set on breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League record.

But it remains uncertain whether he would leave the Bundesliga giants after just one season. It also remains uncertain whether he will join one of Tottenham’s city rivals as that could end up tainting his Tottenham legacy.

That being said, if he is to return to England, a move to Manchester United is much more likelier to happen.
