Former Aston Villa midfielder Ian Taylor says the club is buzzing as they chase Champions League qualification.

Villa are alive for a top four finish after last night's 3-3 thriller with Liverpool.

Taylor told BBC Sport: "What a game, we showed some amazing character last night. Many teams would have crumbled in front of Liverpool, but we didn't and we kept going and got our rewards in the end.

"When you look at the game as a whole, we had more of a chance than Liverpool did. Liverpool were a bit more clinical, but we had our shooting boots on last night and we could have won that game.

"We are pinching ourselves because 18 months ago you would have never had seen this coming. We have an amazing prize ahead of us, that could set us up for the future.

"Since Unai Emery came in, the turnaround has been incredible. For me Emery is one of the top managers in the world."
