Zlatan Ibrahimovic was back in the squad for the first time since the Udinese game but was forced to throw in the towel already during the warm-up. As such, an anxious period awaits the Swede.

The 41-year-old sustained an injury while on international duty with Sweden back in March and had only just recovered ahead of today’s game between Milan and Lecce. However, he never made an appearance and there’s a good reason for it.

According to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Ibrahimovic experienced discomfort in his calf during the warm-up and had to leave the pitch with a masseur. He had a slight limp as he walked off and, of course, he never came off the bench.

Ibrahimovic will undergo tests in the coming hours and the situation should become clearer. It might be nothing, but we have learned with the striker that it’s often not the case (unfortunately).
