Paolo Di Canio has waxed lyrical about Inter Milan ahead of their upcoming Serie A clash against reigning holders Napoli.

During his recent interview via FCInter1908, the former West Ham United striker praised Inter’s progress under new management.

Inter will take Saturday’s trip to Naples in high spirits following their emphatic 4-0 victory over Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

Furthermore, Cristian Chivu has guided the Nerazzurri to seven consecutive wins in all competitions.

Only last weekend, Inter squeezed past Roma at the Stadio Olimpico to leapfrog Napoli and the Giallorossi in the table.

Despite losing twice in the opening three Serie A rounds, they’re only one point adrift of pacesetters AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Napoli’s form has been in freefall.

Indeed, Antonio Conte’s men have lost back-to-back competitive games, including a 6-2 rout at the hands of PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday.

Therefore, Inter will have momentum on their side when the two Italian giants collide this weekend.

Paolo Di Canio Sings Praise About Inter Milan

Reflection on their recent performances at the Olimpico and Lotto Park, Di Canio said: “Inter is doing well. They are a more vertical team, less boring.

“I have to admit, they were boring in the past. I realize that now. The two substitutes are extremely important for adding verticality.

“Pio’s assist is more that of an attacking midfielder than a physical striker, beautiful, first-time.

“Zielinski also said it – everyone feels more involved now.”

With new energy and renewed confidence, Inter Milan will look to maintain their winning streak this weekend.

However, the Nerazzurri would be well advised not to take Napoli for granted.

Despite a catastrophic defeat in Eindhoven, they’re still the defending Serie A champions.

Needless to say, Conte always has an extra motive against his former club.

Therefore, Chivu’s men must be at their best on Saturday if they’re to take all three points.
