Tottenham Hotspur will take on Manchester United in the final of the UEFA Europa League in the coming weeks, and they will hope to finish the season with a major trophy.
It has been a devastating campaign for Tottenham, and they are 17th in the league table. They will look to finish the season strongly by winning a trophy. Winning the UEFA Europa League would not only end their wait for silverware but also help them secure Champions League qualification for the next season.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can win the match in the coming weeks. It might help them keep their top players as well.
Popular pundit and former Premier League star Stan Collymore has now predicted Tottenham to beat Manchester United in the final of the UEFA Europa league.
Tottenham have managed to beat Manchester United three times this season, twice in the Premier League and once in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
It will be interesting to see if they can pick up their fourth win over Manchester United in a row.
There is no doubt that they have quality players at their disposal, and they will need to hold their nerve and produce a strong performance in the final.
Collymore said to CaughtOffside: “I can see both finals going to extra time. In the Europa League, I could very easily see it ending 2-2 or 3-3 after 90 minutes because there is so much uncertainty surrounding how Tottenham and Man United will perform in Bilbao. Both teams have injuries, and because those that are available will be desperate not to sustain knocks in the build-up, they could be caught cold.
“It could very much be a toss of a coin for who win – but if I stick my neck out, I think Tottenham will take it because they have got the better of Man United in the previous three meetings this season.”
The prediction from Collymore will certainly delight the Tottenham fans, and they will hope that it comes true. Meanwhile, Manchester United have a quality squad as well, and they are desperate for a trophy. It has been a disappointing season for them as well, and they will want to win the trophy to lift the spirits around the club.
It will be interesting to see what comes out on top.
