Tottenham are looking to bring in attacking reinforcements in the summer

A massive squad overhaul is needed at Tottenham to get things back to normal after a disastrous Premier League campaign. The Lilywhites finished the season just a place above the relegation zone, registering 22 losses along the way. Not only that, but the North London club also failed to reach the 40-point mark in the league.

Despite enduring one of their worst ever domestic campaigns, Spurs still managed to end its 17-year wait for a major trophy. The Lilywhites won the Europa League against all odds, ensuring Champions League qualification along the way. Now, the club must aim to bring in reinforcements in the summer if they want to compete on all four fronts next season.

With Thomas Frank taking over the helm at N17 for next season, Daniel Levy must do everything in his power to back the Danish tactician in the transfer market. The Spurs chairman needs to be proactive in the summer and bring in the right players that would suit the ex-Brentford manager’s system.

Tottenham are linked with a move for Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey

A busy few weeks are expected at Tottenham as the club aims to bring in reinforcements for next season. The Lilywhites are heavily linked with a move for Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey, and the Villans are open to let the Englishman go for £40m as they look to register a pure-profit in their account books. Another player linked heavily with Spurs is West Ham star Mohammed Kudus. The Ghana international is keen to move to N17 and it looks likely that Daniel Levy will find a way to land the 24-year-old.

Now, Alasdair Gold has urged Spurs to prioritise a move for Jacob Ramsey instead as the transfer links grow stronger. Speaking on the Gold and Guest podcast, Gold said,

“I quite like Jacob Ramsey. Certainly, Kudus is more versatile on the positions he can play in. But I don’t know, if I’m picking between the two, I kind of feel like I see a little bit more about Ramsey, in terms of slightly better consistency as well.”

Alasdair Gold believes Mohammed Kudus can play in different positions but the journalist prefers Jacob Ramsey instead. Gold points out that the Aston Villa is slightly more consistent, as compared to Kudus. And the West Ham star is also known to go without contributing for a stretch of games.

It remains to be seen what Daniel Levy decides to do as both players would certainly elevate the quality of the squad next season. Spurs do need better wide players if they aim to compete hard in the Champions League and the Premier League. And bringing in either of these two targets would certainly provide a different dynamic to the attack. Brennan Johnson and Heung-Min Son would get better competition in their positions as well, keeping the duo on their toes at all times.
