When Jurgen Klopp came in for Brendan Rodgers in 2015, you could tell straight away the difference in class between the two managers.

Rodgers was still a relatively young manager and Klopp was entering his prime, which he's still in now.

After the 2013/14 heartbreak season, Rodgers team got dismantled with Luis Suarez leaving, Steven Gerrard coming to the end of his career and the club bringing in mediocre players for crazy money.

Since then though, Rodgers went on to manage Celtic and break numerous club records and he's also rejoined the Premier League and made Leicester City a genuine top four threat.

Despite falling short at Liverpool though, former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher thinks if Jurgen Klopp parts ways with Liverpool then the perfect man to replace him would be former manager Brendan Rodgers.

“I’m a huge fan of Brendan Rodgers and think he’s a brilliant manager. I worked with him for 12 months at Liverpool and I think this job came too early for him. If Jurgen Klopp was to leave Liverpool tomorrow Brendan Rodgers would be top of the list.

“That’s not going to happen because he’s been here [Liverpool] before - but done a brilliant job at Leicester. It is a bump in the road and I almost feel for Leicester because they’ve fell away at the end and it’s almost looked at negatively.

“They’re a really good side, a great club in how they recruit but it’s still overachieving what they’ve been doing in the mix of that top four under Brendan Rodgers year in, year out."
