Igor Thiago monitored by Manchester United

Manchester United continue to be linked to targets across the world as the summer transfer window comes to the end of its first week.

Some deals are becoming closer for the club such as the one for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who is expected to join the club in the early stages of next month after an agreement was struck between United and the Italian side.

Others appear to be moving further away with a potential deal for Sandro Tonali standing out, as news emerges that Tottenham Hotspur have had a bid rejected for the Newcastle United midfielder.

Manchester United must also be aware of potential departures this summer, too. Benjamin Sesko has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, and other players could continue to be linked with moves away from Old Trafford in the coming weeks.

Now, according to RTI Esporte, the Red Devils have been monitoring Brentford striker Igor Thiago and are interested in signing the forward this summer.

The outlet also report that Arsenal carry an interest in the Brazilian international, creating the potential for a battle between the two clubs.

Thiago scored 22 times for the Bees in the Premier League last season whilst also providing one assist. He was also named in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup, which is currently taking place across North America, and played against Morocco in the nation’s first group stage fixture.

The forward moved from Club Brugge to Brentford before the start of the 2024-25 campaign and has made a considerable impact.

He could now be on the move again as Manchester United and Arsenal circle. It remains to be seen which club Igor Thiago would prefer this summer although the Red Devils will be hoping that they can secure his signature this summer.
