Jonathan David has bid farewell to Lille as he prepares to take his career to the next step, with Inter and Napoli pursuing his signature.
Per FCInterNews, the Canadian center-forward sent a heartfelt message to the French club’s faithful.
After five years at Stade Pierre Mauroy, Jonathan David will leave Lille as a free agent.
Indeed, he refused to pen a new deal, allowing interested clubs to sign him on a Bosman deal this summer.
“I spent five wonderful seasons here,” David said in the video addressed to Lille supporters.
“I hope that with my goals and celebrations, I was able to bring you joy, especially during the two titles we won in 2021.”
Inter and Napoli are among numerous elite clubs keen to sign David at the end of the season.
In addition to the two leading Serie A title candidates, Juventus are also in the mix.
However, foreign competition is as fierce as it gets, with Barcelona reportedly leading the race.
Indeed, David recently named Los Blaugranas his dream club, increasing the likelihood of a switch to Camp Nou.
Yet, signals from the Catalan outfit have yet to arrive, which can inspire confidence among Inter fans.
