INEOS have made a decision that has come as a surprise to many.

It has been an eventful ride for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS took over Manchester United back in 2024.

They have overseen an FA Cup final win against Manchester City under Erik ten Hag and a UEFA Europa League Final loss to Tottenham Hotspur a season later under Ruben Amorim.

There has been plenty of money spent, spending over £200 million on Bryan Mbuemo, Benjamin Sesko, Senne Lammens and Matheus Cunha.

Players such as Marcus Rashford, Andre Onana, Antony and Christian Eriksen have all departed the club either on loan or permanently.

There has not been a dull period since the arrival of INEOS at Old Trafford. However, they have made one move that is likely to lift staff morale.

The Daily Mail have reported that Manchester United are having a staff party.

This news comes a year after INEOS made the decision to cancel the staff Christmas party.

Ratcliffe and INEOS are reported to have not felt it to be appropriate to celebrate Christmas last year after over 250 jobs were relinquished as a result of redundancies.

The decision to cancel the party is said to have saved United more than £100,000 as they look to balance the books.

All staff have been invited to the event, with food and music based entertainment available.

This is a positive step for a club that has been through some tough times in recent years, but is a sign of a better mood around the team.

A upturn in morale has been evident on the pitch, with only one loss since September 27th.

Amorim appears to be given the time by the ownership group, with Ratcliffe openly showing his support for the former Portugal midfielder and desire to give him three years.
