Inter and Milan are both on the prowl for future defensive reinforcements and could duel for a pair of options, as they both reportedly have Kim Min-Jae and Mario Gila in their crosshairs. The two center-backs might depart Bayern Munich and Lazio, respectively, in the near future for different reasons.
According to Bild (via Mediaset), the former Napoli star is discontent because he’s not a surefire starter. The Nerazzurri are one of the few teams that could have the resources to go after him next summer. The Rossoneri are considering him, too, while Juventus did so for a while, but then their interest waned.
While it’d take Milan and Inter a massive investment to acquire Kim Min-Jae, who joined with a €50M price tag and makes €9M annually, Gila could potentially be a bargain.
Per Calciomercato, his camp and Lazio are struggling to reach an agreement on a new contract. His current one expires in 2027. He’s been one of the lowest-paid on their squad, making just €500k per year. If the parties don’t find common ground before next summer, the club would likely put him on the market rather than risk a Bosman exit. He moved to Italy from Real Madrid for €6M, plus a 50 percent resale clause, in 2022.
The former would be a great get for any side, as he’s still in his prime, but he’d have to accept much lower wages to head back to Serie A. The Biancocelesti defender is a bit unheralded and would be a solid rotational piece in a bigger team, provided the fee is reasonable.
