Inter are confident that wing-back Denzel Dumfries will stay with the club this summer despite previous interest from Barcelona, who have less than 12 hours to make use of the release clause in the Dutchman’s contract.
Dumfries signed a new contract with Inter in November, and is currently tied to the club until the summer of 2028. The deal that he signed last season also included a release clause, which, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, stands at €25m until the end of July 31.
According to reports from various outlets, Barcelona have been considering a move for the Netherlands international this summer, but as things stand, they have made no formal offers to Inter.
And, with Dumfries’s release clause expiring today, it appears unlikely that Barcelona will come in with an official bid.
There had also been reported interest in Dumfries from the Premier League at various stages over the last 12 months, including from the likes of Manchester United and Aston Villa, but the English sides are not expected to make an offer to Inter by the end of the day either.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the signs currently point towards Dumfries staying put in San Siro for the time being.
