Inter defender Acerbi confirms his stance in hearing over alleged racial abuse

Inter defender Francesco Acerbi was heard by FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè on Friday morning. He confirmed that he hadn’t said anything racist to Juan Jesus during a Serie A match on Sunday.

Chinè is investigating alleged racist remarks made by Acerbi towards Napoli defender Juan Jesus on Sunday.

Multiple reports in Italy, including Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com, claim Acerbi didn’t change his stance during Friday’s hearing with the FIGC Prosecutor.

It was held remotely with Acerbi at Inter’s training centre alongside club lawyer Angelo Cappellini and CEO Beppe Marotta.

Acerbi confirmed he hadn’t said anything racist, insisting that the words coming out from his mouth were ‘Ti faccio nero’, which is a non-racist Italian expression meaning ‘I’ll kick your a**.’

If found guilty, Acerbi risks being banned for at least ten matches. Juan Jesus hasn’t yet been heard by the FIGC Prosecutor, who is expected to give his verdict next week.
