Inter have had their worst start in a decade, but, despite some buzz about a quick coaching change, the management plans to give Christian Chivu time to figure things out, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).

While some chatter started spreading after the loss to Juventus, the Nerazzurri brass hasn’t taken any concrete steps in that direction. They are firmly behind the young boss they hired after Simone Inzaghi packed his bags to head to Saudi Arabia.

Some Inter fans asked for the return of José Mourinho should Chivu get the ax. The Special One has recently been dismissed by Fenerbahce because of the elimination from the Champions League playoffs.

While there’s nothing in the works concerning his return to the Nerazzurri, the Portuguese manager is eager to get back on the bench as soon as possible. He isn’t planning to take a sabbatical despite the recent turn of events. He helmed Roma for a few years before his spell in Turkey.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Giuseppe Marotta had three options to succeed Inzaghi. However, he and the rest of the front office didn’t manage to convince Cesc Fabregas and Roberto De Zerbi to leave Como and Olympique Marseille. They remain convinced of their choice and believe the former defender to be a modern and quality gaffer and the right man for the job.

Our Take on Inter and Chivu

They aren’t the kind of team to take rash decisions. The first real moment to take stock of how things are going will likely come in the next break. The sample size is minuscule, but they don’t seem to have solved any of the issues that cost them the title last year.
