As expected, Inter have left Lautaro Martinez, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Benjamin Pavard and Davide Frattesi out of the Serie A trip to Torino, testing a new role for Nicola Zalewski.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Sunday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT, 18.00 CET).

Although the Nerazzurri need a victory to keep their slender Scudetto hopes alive and maintain the pressure on leaders Napoli, the Champions League has to take precedence right now.

Just days after the dramatic 4-3 extra time semi-final victory over Barcelona, Simone Inzaghi is resting several of his star names.

Lautaro Martinez, Mkhitaryan and Frattesi have not even made the journey, along with Pavard who was out of that game anyway on Tuesday with an ankle issue.

There is going to be vast squad rotation in Turin tomorrow, so expect Carlos Augusto, Kristjan Asllani, Piotr Zielinski, Mehdi Taremi, Tucu Correa and Zalewski to step in.

Zalewski could even be used as a mezz’ala in the five-man midfield, rather than as a wing-back, with some tactical experiments performed in training.
