Inter Figuring Out Who to Cash In On to Raise Money

Inter should manage to reach their transfer market goals without significant sales but that doesn’t mean they’ll keep all their current players. They won’t retain Alexis Sanchez, Stefano Sensi, and Davy Klaassen, for starters, who are on expiring contracts. They’ll look to offload more secondary pieces to build their budget, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed (via Tuttomercatoweb).

Denzel Dumfries and Marko Arnautovic are at the top of the list. The Dutchman has had a very underwhelming season. His demands to re-up are substantial. The Nerazzurri would accept if a team offered €25/30M.

Inter will also listen to the proposals for Valentin Carboni. He has had an okay loan spell at Monza but might not be a great fit for Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2. His valuation is around €30M as well. It’d be a crucial ‘plusvalenza’ for their finances.

Instead, the Nerazzurri spent around €10M for Arnautovic and would need to get close to that sum to avoid a loss. They’ll have to find a landing spot for Joaquin Correa as well if Olympique Marseille don’t win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League.

Dumfries has done little to justify his request, and it’s interesting they haven’t decided what to do with Juan Cuadrado yet in the same role. They’d easily come to regret cashing in on Carboni. A loan to a team that gives him a starring role should be the way to go, so they can to better evaluate what they have in him.
