Inter were not impressed with the recent statements made by the agent of Lautaro Martinez as they try to set up a new contract for the star striker.

The 26-year-old Argentinian striker, who was a driving force behind the club’s Scudetto success this term, has just over two years left on his current deal in the Lombardy capital, prompting the club to try and renew his contract ahead of the summer.

On Thursday, Lautaro’s agent Alejandro Camano suggested that a significant raise was needed for his client to agree a new contract with Inter, reflective of his star status and importance to the club.

Inter frustrations with Lautaro

Page 16 of today’s Tuttosport details how Inter’s management are unhappy with Lautaro’s lofty requests and his agent’s recent comments, believing their €8m net per season offer is a fair deal for the striker.

The 26-year-old is asking for a salary of around €10m net, figures the club aren’t willing to match, complicating renewal talks. The Nerazzurri are waiting for a positive signal from the striker now in order to help things move forward.
