Inter are keeping a close eye on Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi, amid rumours Yann Sommer could depart the club this summer.
According to what has been reported by Tuttosport, Inter have identified the Italian shot-stopper as a suitable replacement for Sommer, with the experienced Swiss international linked with a move away from Italy.
Carnesecchi has been linked to several clubs this summer, including Premier League giants Manchester United. Inter are the latest such club yet will likely only pursue the deal if Sommer leaves.
Sommer’s contract with the Nerazzurri expires in 2026 but Tuttosport suggest that if a suitable offer comes in from Galatasaray, or interested parties in Saudi Arabia and England, they may be convinced to part ways with the 36-year-old.
The reports also suggest that former Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma also remains on Inter’s radar. Initial contacts have been made with the Italian’s agent, Enzo Raiola, but an agreement is far away.
A move for Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, however, has been ruled out – as it is believed his wage demands would be too high for the project.
