Lautaro Martinez says Steven Zhang is a ‘great president’ who has made his presence felt over the last few months, but does not know what will happen if Suning lose control of Inter.

The Nerazzurri star spoke about Zhang during an interview with Gazzetta on Tuesday.

The Chinese entrepreneur is going to lose control of the club at 17:00 CET today if he fails to repay a debt of nearly €400m to Oaktree who would therefore take over at San Siro.

Inter: Lautaro Martinez sends message to Zhang as end of Suning era nears

“He has always stayed close to us. Even if he wasn’t with us this season, sometimes a video call was enough to feel him close,” said Lautaro.

“He is a great president and we don’t know what will happen because it’s all above our heads. We are calm and we wait.”

Lautaro also admitted that uncertainty over the club’s ownership may have affected negotiations for his contract extension with the Serie A giants. Read his full interview here.
