Inter recently had a meeting with an intermediary close to Mehdi Taremi and, while they can’t technically add him in January due to the restrictions regarding the extra-EU slots, they tabled their proposal to onboard him in a Bosman move, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.

They tendered a three-year contract with a €3M salary plus a signing bonus. It would include an option to end it a season earlier if things didn’t go as expected. The suppression of the Decreto Crescita’ will force the Nerazzurri to pay €1.8M more annually in taxes compared to recent years, but it’s not a major hindrance. The marksman would triple his wages, as he’s making €1M at Porto.

Taremi signaled that he’s prioritizing Inter over other possible destinations, for instance, Turkey or Saudi Arabia. He hasn’t accepted the offer yet, but he’s leaning in such a direction. He would take Alexis Sanchez’s spot up front. The Chilean veteran inked a one-year deal last summer.

The Iranian talisman might finally arrive in Serie A after being close a couple of times. Milan almost purchased him in the previous window. The deal collapsed late after a sudden change of agent near the end of the negotiation. It led to increased requests about the commissions that the Rossoneri refused to comply with.

Our Take on Taremi and Inter

It seems that, like for Tiago Djaló, the only obstacle in their way is a potential January transfer, but they have an ally in Porto in that respect.
