Simone Inzaghi will have to do without both of his starting wing-backs in Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries for Monday evening’s Serie A match between Inter and Fiorentina, according to reports two hours ahead of kick-off.
The two teams will meet in San Siro at 19.45 on Monday evening, just a few days after Fiorentina defeated the Nerazzurri by a 3-0 margin in Tuscany on Thursday.
According to pre-match reports from TMW, Dimarco is suffering with a bout of the flu, and is therefore expected to sit out of Monday’s match against Fiorentina.
After his booking in the 1-1 derby draw against Milan, Dumfries now has four yellows in the league and one in the Coppa Italia this season, which means that he is now suspended.
Dumfries’s suspension did not apply for the rescheduled match against Fiorentina on Thursday, but he will now have to serve his one-match ban on Monday night.
With Dimarco and Dumfries both out, Matteo Darmian is expected to start at right wing-back, with Carlos Augusto out on the opposite flank.
