Federico Dimarco praised his young Inter teammates Ange-Yoan Bonny and Francesco Pio Esposito after the Nerazzurri’s 4-1 win over Cremonese in Serie A.
The defender also reflected on the team’s strong reaction following a difficult start to the campaign under Cristian Chivu.
“Bonny and Pio are two strong players,” Dimarco told reporters post-match, with quotes via FCInterNews.
“For Thuram, I’m the one for first goals – just like today for Bonny, I also assisted Marcus for his first goal at San Siro.”
The Italy international underlined the group’s progress, highlighting how Inter have bounced back from their early setbacks.
“We’ve been working well since the start of the year,” he said.
“There were two slip-ups: Inter can’t lose two of the first three games. Today we were dominant and after that run of matches, Juventus included, we’ve started again in great fashion.”
Dimarco also commented on his fitness after a demanding spell of games.
“Two full matches in a row? It’s been a long time since I managed that,” he joked.
“I just answered a question that was asked – I got on really well with Inzaghi and his staff during those four years.”
Speaking at his press conference, Dimarco reiterated his point on his fitness.
“I’ve been struggling a bit lately: even with my work, I couldn’t get out of the difficult moment.
“I think the coach and my teammates are helping me get through it, and the more high-level performances you put in, the easier it is to get out of it.”
