The future of Lorenzo Pellegrini could soon become one of Serie A’s biggest transfer stories, with Inter Milan and AC Milan both reportedly keeping a close eye on the Roma midfielder’s situation.
After strong speculation over a summer exit, the Giallorossi captain has rediscovered form under Gian Piero Gasperini.
He has played a key role and scored crucial goals: including in the derby win over Lazio.
However, as Il Messaggero reports, his long-term future in the capital is far from settled.
Both Napoli and West Ham made approaches in the last transfer window, while Milan tested the waters more recently.
None of the offers convinced either Pellegrini or Roma, but Inter, who have admired the Italy international for some time, could re-emerge as contenders, especially if his contract situation remains unresolved.
Pellegrini’s current deal runs until June 2026, yet no progress has been made toward a renewal.
The report adds that no meetings are scheduled with his agent.
Therefore, leaving open the possibility of a free transfer scenario.
For now, Roma are unwilling to consider a January departure.
However, if talks remain frozen into 2026, Pellegrini could become a major target for Serie A’s top clubs.
This includes Inter and Milan, as well as suitors abroad.
